Reclaimed wood doors from Brenners Altholz® bring genuine aged wood to your doorways: the door leaf is covered on both sides with original reclaimed-wood slats, in sun-burnt brown or grey, with vertical or horizontal slats. The result is an interior door made of reclaimed wood that matches reclaimed wood wall cladding and makes the room feel consistent as a whole. We supply just the door leaf or the finished door including frame and fittings – in common widths or made to measure, every door made to order.
How is a reclaimed wood door built?
Beneath the visible reclaimed wood layer is a sturdy door leaf: a multi-layer glued frame keeps the door dimensionally stable, and the core is either a lightweight honeycomb or solid chipboard for more weight and better sound insulation. The approx. 6 mm thick reclaimed wood slats are applied on both sides – the door looks the same from the hallway as from the room.
Sun-burnt brown or grey – which surface fits?
The brown surface shows the warm patina of wood that has been exposed to the sun for years. The grey one looks calmer and suits bright, modern rooms. If your walls are already clad with sun-burnt reclaimed wood panelling or grey reclaimed wood wall panels, choose the wooden door in the same shade. Vertical slats make the door look taller, horizontal slats emphasise its width.
Reclaimed wood doors made to measure – which sizes are available?
Standard door leaves come in widths 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 and 110 with a height of 2040 mm. Other widths and heights are available on request at an extra charge. For the complete door, the frame is matched to your wall thickness – so the made-to-measure reclaimed wood door also fits old buildings and renovations.
